PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING:

The Embassy of Afghanistan in Oslo issues Inheritance Forms to Afghan nationals and Afghan-born individuals residing in, and applying from, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland

Applications for Inheritance Form can only be made in person by the applicant. The applicant must be accompanied by three referees and two witnesses (see the ‘Checklist of requirements’ below for details).


Checklist of requirements
All applicants for Inheritance Registration must:

• Be present, through a pre-arranged appointment, at the Consular Section of the Embassy.
• Provide two standard passport size photos affixed to the appropriate box in the application form. Photos must be taken directly off the face and show both ears
• Bring three referees with fully detailed and signed affidavits, including two photos of each (Referees are individuals other than the applicant’s close relatives who can testify to the facts of the inheritance)
• Bring two witnesses, including their full details and photos
• Provide documents verifying the identity of the applicant
• Provide documents relating to the inheritance concerned
• Provide documents verifying current address of the applicant such as utility bills
• Pay Inheritance Form processing fee (see the fees table below)

Payment method

1. Inheritance form fees and all other consular charges are ONLY payable in EUROS. Payment in any other currency will not be accepted.
2. Inheritance form fees and all consular charges must be paid by BANK CHEQUE (certified cheque) or MONEY ORDER made payable to ‘The Embassy of Afghanistan, Oslo’. Payment by cash, personal cheques or bank transfer will not be accepted.
3. A money order (or certified bank cheque) can be obtained at any high street bank, regardless of whether you hold an account there or not, by paying the required amount alongside any applicable fee.
4. The money order (or certified bank cheque) must cover the total amount that is payable to the Embassy, and must be sent to us together with your application form.

How to apply?
All applicants must contact the Consular Section in advance to book an interview appointment. The Consular Section’s opening hours are as follows:

Monday to Thursday from 9am to 12 noon and Fridays from 8:30am to 11:30am.

The Consular Section is closed outside these hours as well as on Saturdays and Sundays.

At the appointed time, the applicants alongside witnesses and guarantors should arrive at the Embassy. Remember that in case of application for marriage and divorce certificates, the presence of both husband and wife is essential. The Embassy address is as follows:

The interview, conducted by the Consul, may last for one to two hours. Usually, inheritance forms are issued at the end of the interview. In some cases, the applicants will be asked to return on a specified day and time to pick up their forms. At the request of applicants, where their re-appearance at the Embassy is not necessary, we can send their inheritance form and documents by post in which case the applicants will be required to present a registered, self-addressed return envelop or enclose the necessary payment to cover postage cost.



Return of original documents
All original documents submitted as part of application for power of attorney letter will be returned to the applicant after the due process.
