History and background of the Embassy

H.E. Ambassador M.Y.  Maroofi was appointed as the first Afghan Ambassador to Norway by President Hamid  Karzai in 2004, and was officially accredited to the court of Norway on 6 October 2004.

Ambassador Maroofi served as Ambassador to Norway and non-resident envoy to Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland until May 2007. Ambassador Maroofi is today the Ambassador of Afghanistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

His Excellency Jawed Ludin, was appointed as Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Norway by President Hamid Karzai in February 2007, and was officially accredited to the court of Norway on 31 May 2007. Ambassador Ludin is also a non-resident envoy to Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
